Flasher Module Install
STEP 1:
Remove the headlight assembly and locate the stock flasher module in the rear of the headlight bucket and remove it.
STEP 2:
You can install the flasher
module in one of two ways;
1. Splice it into the stock wiring harness after removing the stock flasher
module. This may be somewhat difficult due to limited space. Please note that
the yellow wire should be wired to the bike’s purple wire with blue stripe and
the red wire should be wired to the bike’s purple wire. (Please see picture
below.)
2. Remove the portion of the stock flasher relay that plugs into the stock
wiring harness and contains two bladed terminals. Solder the wires from the
flasher module to the bladed terminals from the stock relay and glue them back
in place. The picture below is of an older model flasher module, but note that
the flasher module’s yellow wire should connect to the bike’s purple wire with
blue stripe and the red wire should connect with the bike’s purple wire. This
allows you to directly plug the flasher module into the stock wiring harness.
.
STEP 3:
Ground the flasher module’s
black ground wire to any appropriate ground in the headlight bucket (turn
signal, etc.).
STEP 4:
Make sure the dipswitches on the back of the flasher module are set to OFF-OFF-ON-OFF. Carefully adjust the flash rate on the flasher module using a small screwdriver until the desired rate is achieved. Double check for proper function of all turn signals and 4-way flashers before reinstalling the headlight.
You're done!
